South Africa

The name “South Africa” is derived from the country’s geographic location at the southern tip of Africa. It is bounded to the south by 2,798 kilometres of coastline of Southern Africa stretching along the South Atlantic and Indian Oceans to the north by the neighbouring countries of Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. With a rich history the Kruger National Park is a firm favourite, offering Big-5 safari adventures up close and personal. Madikwe, the Eastern Cape and Pilanesberg are also good safari alternatives to consider. Cape Town is a vibrant city that everybody loves, from the sun-soaked beaches to sipping wine in the nearby Cape Winelands. South Africa has become a destination for thrill seekers and foodies. The fine restaurants, diverse adventure activities, quality accommodation, are all excellent value.

South Africa is literally “A World in One Country”

BOTSWANA

Botswana officially the Republic of Botswana is a landlocked country in Southern Africa. Botswana is topographically flat, with up to 70 percent of its territory being the Kalahari Desert. It is bordered by South Africa to the south and southeast, Namibia to the west and north, and Zimbabwe to the northeast. Its border with Zambia. Botswana, home to the world’s largest intact inland Delta – the Okavango, the unimaginable vastness of the world’s second largest game reserve – the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, the isolation and otherworldliness of the Makgadikgadi pans, and the astoundingly prolific wildlife of the Chobe National Park.”

ZIMBABWE

Zimbabwe officially the Republic of Zimbabwe, formerly Rhodesia, is a landlocked country located in Southern Africa, between the Zambezi and Limpopo rivers, bordered by South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique.

Few African destinations can compete with Victoria Falls for sheer visual drama. At its full, roaring peak, the ‘Smoke that Thunders’ is one of the continent’s most mesmerising sights, leaving visitors lightly soaked and absolutely exhilarated at the same time. The falls are on the mighty Zambezi river, which means you can see them from either Zambia or Zimbabwe. Arguably, the best on-foot views are from Zimbabwe’s side – so lovely, in fact, that explorer David Livingstone declared they must have been gazed on by angels.

ZAMBIA

Zambia safari combines excellent big game viewing with luxurious lodges and some of the best guides in Africa. And although the raw beauty of Zambia’s vast reserves has long made them a favourite for safari connoisseurs, they don’t attract the crowds that cluster around sightings in the better-known parks in Africa. While Zambia’s reserves are truly remote, the country’s capital Lusaka is thankfully well connected. Round off your safari in Zambia with a beach holiday on the lakeshore in neighbouring Malawi or opt for more big game viewing in Kenya or Tanzania.

NAMIBIA

Namibia is the soul of Africa, characterised by vast open spaces, breath-taking scenery, and great contrasts – ocean, dunes, mountains, and deserts. This vast desert country of rolling dunes and swirling mists stirs the spirit and moves the heart.

Namibia is so large and sparsely populated that it is possible to discover enormous open spaces without roads, towns, trees or even stones, just the lonely desert wind passing through one of the most enchanting corners of the earth.

Africa’s largest game park, the Namib-Naukluft Park, is a must see when on safari in Namibia, with its magnificent sea of rolling red dunes at Sossusvlei.

Etosha National Park is one of Africa’s great parks in both size and diversity of wildlife. In the country’s far north eastern pocket is the captivating and largely unexplored Caprivi Strip.

MOZAMBIQUE

Mozambique is a southern African nation whose long Indian Ocean coastline is dotted with popular beaches like Tofo, as well as offshore marine parks. In the Quirimbas Archipelago, a 250km stretch of coral islands, mangrove-covered Ibo Island has colonial-era ruins surviving from a period of Portuguese rule. The Bazaruto Archipelago farther south has reefs which protect rare marine life including dugongs. Mozambique has remained an exclusive destination as many of its islands and mainland beaches are isolated and secluded, offering travellers the ultimate escape. There are no golf courses or shopping malls here, but the unspoiled natural beauty and rich marine life have pushed the country to the top of the list for honeymooners, scuba divers and water sports fanatics.
